Its been a long month I tell yeah. Things are going great, busy as all heck but going well. I still have not unpacked the house we have been working on the barn and fencing first, we are hoping to have it all ready by time the white fluffy stuff flys!
Shawn and I put hardwood fencing up, Beebles decided to think it was fun to run UNDER the electrobraid and walk the yellow line down route 69 *shakes head* She even perked up collected her head when people stopped and popped their heads out the window. This little girl LOVES attention, there is no denying that. So the hard fence is up, we wanted to do it anyways but Beebles made it a priotity!
Lets see what else, the neighbors around are great, one lady brings fresh carrots from her graden and shares them and brings sugar cubes JUST for Maggie Moo! Hope special. They look forward to her visits and her scratches. I have had other neighbors stop by and admire my horses and it feels great! Specially WOW they look good and WOW Maggie is fat
. Poor Maggie has been labled the pig of the herd! That should come off once I get her back adjusted again so I can ride her… its been frustrating to say the least.
O O O, after Beebles made her second attempt of becoming a professional jay walker, I put Shy and Beebles in with Maggie and Lucy and said duke it out.. I was at my wits end… mostly with worry! So I witnessed something I NEVER thought I would witness… Shy Shy at a FULL gallop with baby at her side, not one miss step NOTHING.. perfect motion. I just kept hitting Shawns arm HONEY HONEY HONEY… he is like I SEE I SEE I SEE. I was amazed beyond tears amazed. Seeing momma and baby running side by side, seeing Shy cut Maggie and Lucy off, it was pure horse harmony and purely a miricle!
This was also bittersweet for me. Most of you know, I have planned to lay Shy to rest in Novemeber for many reasons. One the arthritis in her neck from the injuries, the arthritis in her legs from god knows what.. but she has got the HUGE scars from it. Not to mention she does not handle ground level change well at all. Also for financial reasons. Her food is a lot of money. She goes through a bag of grain in a little under a week, a bale of hay a day 2 in the winter plus cool calories. Thats a lot of money when you think of it, not to mention, Beebles will be eating more and winter is coming and there is no grass. People are going to be upset, but what can I do. Who wants this responsibility and I would NEVER trust her to anyone again. I think I have more then enough people to vouche I have done everything I can for her, spiritually, lovingly and financially. But winter is coming and its only going to get harder. I do have a fear that she is going to fall and not beable to get back up. So I have a lot of soul searching to do. I know what I can do financialy and its not looking great. To bad she didn’t have a sugar stallion to pay her way LOL. Ok bad joke but I had to say it.
I do want to say, thanks to my mother and farther in-law for ALL the help with getting the farm ready for the girls and for helping me out when I have to work by letting them in and out and making sure they get awesome care. Thanks you too!
Ok on a brighter note I got some pictures!!!
